No. The Litmus MQTT broker is designed to work as a complete enterprise-grade MQTT broker that can connect to Litmus Edge, non–Litmus connected industrial devices, other control systems, SCADA, and various data sources operating under standard messaging protocols and services, including but not limited to Google Pub sub, Kafka, AWS Kinesis, to name a few.
No. Litmus MQTT is a standalone messaging broker that can be used to connect and manage industrial devices at scale. It is designed to be a common messaging broker that can be used to exchange messages between different data publishers and subscribers, including Litmus Edge connected devices and data sources, as well as non-Litmus Edge data sources.
The NATS messaging broker will continue to be the central broker within Litmus Edge. It is responsible for routing messages between the different components of Litmus Edge, such as the device connectors, the edge applications, and the cloud gateway.
No. We recently launched a Private Beta program as part of our announcement for Litmus MQTT. All Private Beta users will receive early access to the offering at various stages along with a FREE perpetual license of Litmus MQTT in exchange for various degrees of incentivized and non–incentivized feedback shared based on current MQTT practices and user testing. Currently this is a limited program, and we are actively accepting and vetting the Private Beta requests we have received.
