Enhanced Reliability for Software Updates
A previous LEM release (2.10.0) was launched with a behind-the-scenes capability to enhance the reliability for software updates. In constrained or low-bandwidth LTE networks, users can run into connection drops stalling the update process. LEM 2.10.0 and later provide the following benefits in terms of enhanced reliability:
Users can resume software updates that have been interrupted.
Validate the integrity of downloaded files using checksum.
Deliver continuous innovation to end customers.
Ensure that the edge devices are always up-to-date.
With enhanced reliability in software updates, industrial customers across different verticals can deliver improved user experiences. Automotive OEMs can benefit from reliable OTA software updates for connected car applications, food and beverage manufacturers relying on constrained bandwidth LTE networks can improve asset tracking reliability, and high-tech manufacturers can securely use their edge devices for advanced smart manufacturing applications.
